Was recommended Garej Bowydd on a LR specialise FB page. I initially took for an MOT and investigation of an oil leak. Fantastic, friendly service, great advice following investigation and had no hesitation about booking it in for the works required. Final bill came through less than quotation, so that brought a smile to my face! Would highly recommend. There is a small wait to get... Read More

The benefits of servicing your VW
Safety: Thousands of accidents could be avoided every year had the car been serviced. It really is that important. If you’re committed to keeping your family, and those around you, safe, it’s critical you have your VW serviced.
Longevity: Volkswagens are built to last. They’re one of the most consistent, reliable vehicles available. But, if you want yours to stay that way and keep running for years to come, you need to look after it with regular servicing.
Reliability: Forget failed MOTs and early morning breakdowns. When you have your Volkswagen serviced at Bowydd Garage, you can rest assured your vehicle is ready to take on any challenges it comes across.
Savings: Regular servicing can save you hundreds of pounds each year. It catches any issues before they become expensive repairs. And, it ensures your engine is running efficiently, increasing your miles per gallon.
How do I know when my VW needs servicing?
Most Volkswagens need to be serviced either every 10,000 to 20,000 miles or every 12 to 24 months, whichever comes first.
You’ll know your Volkswagen is ready to be serviced because its service indicator or service light will turn on in your dashboard. Failing that, you should have a service schedule in your handbook, this will tell you when you’re next ready to go in.
However, after your first VW service with us, we’ll send you a reminder 4 weeks before your next service is due. Any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

What happens during a VW service?
As a VAG specialist garage that’s passionate about German vehicles, our award-winning technicians follow the exact same servicing checklist as the dealerships.
So, you get an excellent service, but at an independent garage price.
Below is an example of the areas covered.

Typical VW Service Checklist
Lighting & Visibility – Front and rear lighting is thoroughly checked for correct operation. Additional visibility items such as glass and wipers are inspected, along with exterior mirrors and registration plates.
Steering, Drive, and Suspension – A comprehensive check of all joints, gaiters and wheel bearings is carried out. This is followed by an inspection of the front and rear shock absorbers and road springs.
Vehicle Interior – A thorough inspection is conducted of the seat belts, horn, hazard lighting, as well as all vehicle controls. We’ll also ensure the correct operation of the driver displays, noting any warning messages.
Under Bonnet – A full visual inspection is carried out ensuring no leaks exist and all components are serviceable. Where applicable, service items such as air filter, oil filter, sparks plugs, drive belts, etc are replaced.
Braking – Front and rear brake components are checked and measured so that service life can be reported upon.
Under Vehicle – After removal of the under trays, the engine oil is drained and transmission checked for leaks.
Tyre Inspection – All road wheels and tyres are inspected for serviceability and pressures adjusted prior to refitting. Where applicable, the spare wheel is inspected or inflation kit checked for operation.
Final Checks – To conclude the service, the brake fluid and antifreeze are tested and the engine filled with new oil. Finally, the vehicle is road tested and service book or on online service record updated.
